Another look at Adam Kalkin‘s work with the simple shipping container. Kalkin started working with this “important medium of global trade” long before it became popular. Here’s a look at his “Push Button House Concept”. For Kalkin’s other work, click here.

The push button house concept this is expandable container house for urban living by Adam Kalkin firstly displayed at Art Basel Miami 2005, this house uses a standard shipping container as the structure of a home and uses hydraulic power to lift and lower the side of the shipping container to expand the usable living space. This Push Button house consist of bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and living areas, great concept for urban house design.
