The hallmark of any great city is its urban park! Commonly located at the center of its core, urban parks play a significant role in providing traffic-choked cities with much-needed green lungs. As well as recreation, sporting and cultural venues for residents and visitors alike. Here’s a look at some of the larger urban parks from across the world.
PHOENIX PARK, DUBLIN (1,800 ACRES)
Phoenix Park in Dublin, Ireland is is the largest urban park in Europe, and among the largest urban parks in the world. The park is completely enclosed and is known for being the location of the home of the President of Ireland. The park clocks in at just under 1,800 acres and is notably larger than the infamous Hyde Park in London.
