This is my personal blog, where I share my thoughts, observations and plain randomness about the world around us.
The many topics invariably include Tourism, Globalization, Branding, Innovation, Sustainable Businesses, Eco-Responsibility, Travel, Marketing, Architecture, Heritage Preservation, Social Change & Entrepreneurship, Management, People, Lifestyle…. and just about anything else that catches my eye (and attention).

Living in a globally-interconnected world is an oxymoron, and the advent of technology has enabled the human race to stay connected…. more than ever before… via a myriad of channels of communication.
My hope for this personal blog is as a forum where I can share my thoughts and ideas with anyone from across the world who shares a common interest.
If you enjoy my thoughts, please tell me, and if you don’t… or even find it offensive… tell me even sooner! I’d appreciate feedback and insight from anyone… as I firmly believe that any feedback is an opportunity for improvement.
Words are like eggs, when they are hatched they have wings.
~ Traditional Malagasy proverb from Madagascar
Information that empowers you to see with your eyes, listen with your head, and react with your heart!
Live your life, explore your world, make a difference! Keep discovering!
Sincerely,
Dian

Hi Dian,
I love your writings. It’s plain simple but very emotional and expressive. Simple to understand and yet very meaningful. I seldom read blogs or books for that matter but I hope to make your blog my everyday readings. I wish I could learn how to write like you and I hope one day I will.
Thanks Dian.

hi ! i was really intrigued by a photograph taken by you of the asian elephant and man named mahout. i am 16 and i drew the picture, i am thinking of entering it into a contest and labeling it with.inspired by dian hasan’s “asian elephant”. would that be okay with you?
if you would like i could also attach a picture of the drawing
sincerely
kristy
Hi Kristy, thanks for finding us. Glad you like the content. I’m trying to find the picture you mentioned. I’m sure it’s not my picture, but one I took from The Boston Globe (and credited appropriately). Yes you can use it as an inspiration for your drawing, so long as you provide the proper credit/or link to the original picture.
Let’s stay connected.
Best regards,
Dian
Hey Dian,
I just wanted to quickly let you know how pleased I was to stumble upon your blog! I’m an American living in Shanghai at the moment, studying Chinese media and journalism, and working in Chinese social media. It’s a fascinating place. I’m looking forward to reading more of your thoughts and findings – it’s also a welcome distraction from my thesis research.
Thanks again and enjoy the day.
Alison
Hi Alison, pleasure to meet you. Thanks for finding us. I’m glad you like the content and find it informative. Looks like you’re on your way to a good challenge (make that an compellingly complex challenge)… understanding Chinese media & journalism. The key would be to understand culture, which is part of the people’s and the country’s Brand DNA. I never cease to be fascinated by culture myself, viewing it as a global citizen myself, dividing my time between San Diego and Indonesia. You’ll find plenty of blog posts dealing with brand-building across different cultures.
Let’s stay connected! ciao, dian
