Poverty Alleviation | Empowering the the world’s poor through power

Fenix International, a provider of renewable energy solutions for frontier markets, has announced the launch of its ReadySet energy system, an innovative power solution designed to run devices that improve the quality of life for the 1.6 billion people living without electricity around the world.

Fenix has already signed up three leading mobile telecommunications service providers for pilot deployments in East and West Africa.

The ReadySet system is a micro power generation and distribution platform that charges from virtually any energy source including solar, micro-wind, micro-hydro and human power.

It is optimized for charging mobile phone handsets, powering low-wattage lights (such as LEDs and CFLs) and running energy efficient appliances like LCD televisions and netbooks.
