Two years ago (wow, can’t believe how fast time evaporates!), I blogged about the role of art in Brand-Building, zooming in on brands that associate themselves with art. And it’s not always the serious high-brow art that is adorning swanky museums across the globe, not is art that’s gathering dust in far corners of untold museums, awaiting their fate when the right exhibit can bring them into public view again.
It’s the type of art that is organic, spontaneous, often born on the streets, through artists that have been hardened by the harsh realities that talent exists in the masses, and gems are those that are discovered by the right art curators and galleries. Luck, is of course a decisive factor.
Which brings me back to the unique art that I want to bring forward. The medium is not your typical canvas, but the human hand, readily available, and often the artist’s own hands. And others of course. Here’s a look at Italian-born artist, Guido Daniele‘s wonderful work. AT&T commissioned him to create a campaign on global connectivity, demonstrating all the different countries where AT&T’s has coverage. Can you guess the country?
Art is ever flowing, ever involving, ever present, and ever creative. There’s a saying in Indonesian and Malay “where there is no cane, even a root will suffice” (“tidak ada rotan, akar pun berguna”), captured perfectly by Italian artist, Guido Daniele, who uses hands and other body parts as his canvas.
