Ideas Inspiring Innovation | Logos Inspired by a Famous Symbol

By Dian Hasan | January 17, 2010

Open your eyes, look around you. Everything can become a source of inspiration, whether nature, with all its abundance, or something man-made, be it a building, a work of art, or even a corner of a street. Anything that catches our eye, can trigger creativity.

Here’s a look at Logos and Corporate Identity, and what could have perhaps inspired its design.

The logos of Olympic AirAudi, Praxis Electronic Medical Records, and Open Angel Forum were most probably inspired by the Olympic Games symbol with its 5 rings.

Man on a bike fashioned after the Olympic rings during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

The Olympic Games symbol of five rings represents the five inhabited continents (Note: North & South America are considered one continent) that participate in the games, virtually all nations representing the entire human race. The five colors – blue, yellow, black, green, and red – over a white field forms the Olympic flag, and represents the five main colors that are found in all the nations’ flags.
